How to Treat & Prevent Developing Scalp Scabs

More and more people are suffering from this not-so-pleasant dermatological problem: scalp scabs or the scalp disease also known scientifically as seborrheic dermatitis.

Dermatitis can be simply translated as an inflammation of the scalp, but this condition is characterized by a multitude of symptoms such as dry skin, hyperemia (red skin), pruritus (itching), crusts and other exfoliative lesions, papules (little painful injuries), vesicles (with fluid).

There are several types of dermatitis, depending on the triggering factor, but their treatment is somehow similar. Most types of seborrheic dermatitis are being characterized by the appearance of pinkish, pruritic or non-rust stains caused by the contact with certain objects, plants, animals or substances.

Plants are most often blamed for developing dermatitis: certain vegetables, fruits, herbs or even the earth may cause skin irritation.

In addition, scalp scabs are most of the times accompanied by dandruff, which appears when you are not hydrating enough or because of an inappropriate nutrition.

Scalp Scabs Treatment & Prevention

We all know you became desperate and although it may seem like something extremely difficult to get rid of, there are various solutions meant to eliminate this cause of frustration.

However, before to start taking actions, first you should know exactly what you are dealing in with. Our advice is before deciding to resort to the most expensive treatments, try a range of remedies that you probably have in your own household because you might become surprised by their effectiveness.

The most frequent causes of seborrhoeic dermatitis are stress, weak immunity or other diseases.

A first step in combating this disease is to give up on animal fats, preserved foods (canned food, salami), alcohol, coffee, sweets (except honey), and smoking.

Try the mask with lemon juice & olive oil: Mix some extra virgin olive oil with lemon juice until you get a homogeneous blend. Apply this mixture with a cleansing disc or cotton swab, gently massaging the roots. Leave the mask on for 30 minutes. It will hydrate the skin and reduce the scabs.

Try the Mixture from Castor oil and vitamin A: You can purchase these products from any pharmacy or grocery store: mix the two ingredients. Then, apply on the scalp and let it on for at least 10 minutes. The results will become noticeable after doing this for at least three times and the results are guaranteed for all skin types.

Wash your Hair with Apple vinegar: Wash your head and rinse, as usual, then apply half a cup of apple vinegar on the wet hair and crush two aspirin tablets into the same cup. After 10 minutes, rinse your hair again.

Massage With Yogurt:  Massage your scalp with yogurt once a week. After finishing the message, leave the yogurt on and rinse your hair with lukewarm water or with an infusion of rosemary.

Infusion of walnut, Quince and Nettle Leaves: Put walnut, quince and nettle leave to dry. Crush and mix them into a bowl. Prepare an infusion with three liters of water and use the mixture to rinse your hair. Treatment has a protective effect against dandruff, but also prevent hair loss.
